Snappers Lose One, Gain Two

The Minnesota Twins have placed Snappers' catcher Wilson Ramos on the disabled list with a right thumb ligament tear. Ramos suffered the injury in the first inning of yesterday's game against the Peoria Chiefs.

Filling Ramos' position will be 5'11" catcher David Hernandez from Elizabethton. In ten games this season with Elizabethton, Hernandez is batting .192 with one home run and two RBI.

Also joining the Snappers is left handed pitcher Henry Reyes. The 6'7" pitcher from Santo Domingo, DR signed as a non-drafted free agent on February 10, 2006. Reyes is 7-2 with a 2.87 ERA in 11 starts this season.

The moves leave the Snappers' current roster at 24, one below the Midwest League maximum.

The Snappers are the First Half Midwest League Western Division Champions! Purchase your tickets for the 2007 playoffs now. The Snappers will play host to the Second Half Midwest League Western Division Wild Card Team in games two and three (if necessary) on September 6th and 7th right here at beautiful Pohlman Field.
