The Somerset Patriots were defeated by the Binghamton Rumble Ponies by a score of 5-1 on Wednesday night at TD Bank Ballpark.
RHP Richard Fitts (7.0 IP, 4 R, 4 ER, 7 H, 1 BB, 7 K) was the losing pitcher in the game, after allowing four first inning runs.
Following the first inning, Fitts finished the night with six scoreless frames. His seven innings pitched were the most by any Patriots starter this season.
1B Eric Wagamam (2-for-4, RBI, R, HR) accounted for the Patriots' only run with his second home run of the season.
With the home run, Wagaman has now gone deep in two of his last four games. The multi-hit performance was also Wagaman's fourth this season out of 11 games started.
