COLLEGE PARK, Ga. - The College Park Skyhawks (8-8) defeated the Westchester Knicks (6-8), 126-112, at the Gateway Center Arena on Monday in the first game of a two-game series.

Big man Giorgi Bezhanishvili, in his fourth consecutive start, recorded a career high of 30 points (13-18 FG) to go along with 12 rebounds, leading the team in both categories. Tyrese Martin, on assignment from the Hawks, recorded his sixth double-double of his rookie season with 19 points and 11 rebounds in 37 minutes. Langston Galloway poured in 23 points on 7-9 FG and 6-7 3FG. In his last four games, Galloway is averaging 21.3 points per game, and has made four-or-more three-pointers in every game on .703 3FG%.

The Skyhawks finished the night shooting .565 FG% (48-85 FG) and .444 3FG% (12-27 3FG) on the game, marking the fourth game this season that the team has shot at least .560 FG% and .440 3FG%. All four games resulted in Skyhawks victories.

The game began with Bezhanishvili scoring 12 of the Skyhawks' first 14 points on his way to 18 points in the first half, a new first half career-high for the second-year big. The Skyhawks narrowly defeated the Knicks in the first quarter, 33-32, moving to 7-2 in the regular season when outscoring the opponent in the first quarter.

Martin (12 points) and Armoni Brooks (10 points) complemented the scoring of Bezhanishvili in the opening half, and the Skyhawks took an 11-point lead going into the break, 68-57.

College Park continued to attack the paint in the third quarter, scoring 23 of their 31 points in the paint or at the free throw line during the period.

Westchester outscored the Skyhawks in the fourth quarter, 32-27, but it was not enough as College Park held on to win in a game they led for 40:20. College Park led by as many as 22 points at 102-80 with 11:22 left in the fourth quarter.

Former Skyhawk DaQuan Jeffries, now a two-way player for the Knicks, led Westchester with 24 points and 11 rebounds in 39 minutes. Trevor Keels added 17 points and five assists in 34 minutes.

College Park and Westchester will conclude their two-game series on Wednesday at the Gateway Center Arena at 7 p.m. ET. The Skyhawks will then host the Long Island Nets for "Celebrating Black History" Night on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 6:30 p.m. ET.
