
Santa Cruz Warriors Forward Gui Santos Selected to 2023 NBA G League Next Up Game

SANTA CRUZ, CA - Santa Cruz Warriors forward Gui Santos has been selected by fan vote to participate in the first NBA G League Next Up Game, which will take place at NBA All-Star 2023 in Salt Lake City, the league announced today. The NBA G League Next Up Game will be held on Sunday, Feb. 19, at 12 p.m. (PST) at the Jon M. Huntsman Center and will air live on NBA TV.
Santos is averaging 10.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 25.7 minutes over 30 games (13 starts) this season. The forward put up season-highs of 31 points against Stockton on December 30 and 10 rebounds at Memphis on January 18. Santos was selected by the Golden State Warriors with the 55th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.
The NBA G League Next Up Game will feature some of the top talent from across the NBA G League. For the first time in G League history, fans were able to vote for their favorite G League players to participate in this All-Star Weekend competition. Twenty-four NBA G League players, including 10 selected by a fan vote, will compete in the Next Up Game.
Santos has joined the official Brazil team that will participate in the upcoming FIBA World Cup Qualifying second round, sixth window games on Thursday, February 23 against Puerto Rico and Sunday, February 26 against USA at Ginásio Poliesportivo in Santa Cruz do Sul, Brazil. Following the two games for Brazil, Santos will rejoin the Santa Cruz Warriors for the home stretch of the season.
The Warriors face the Wisconsin Herd tonight at 4 p.m. PST at Oshkosh Arena. Tune in to the game on NBC Sports Bay Area. The Santa Cruz Warriors next home game is on February 15 against the Texas Legends at 7:00pm when the first 1,000 fans will receive a Hardwood Classics Lunchbox, courtesy of Kaiser Permanente.
