NBA G League Ignite News Release
HENDERSON, Nev. - NBA G League Ignite's Draft-eligible prospects are set for an exciting slate at NBA All-Star 2023, with the team's elite youth players joining in on 2023 Jordan Rising Stars and NBA G League Next Up Game action.
The weekend begins with the Jordan Rising Stars game on Friday, Feb. 17, featuring 2023 NBA Draft prospects Scoot Henderson, Leonard Miller, Sidy Cissoko and Mojave King. The annual showcase of premier young talent features a mini-tournament with four teams and three games. Ignite's four players will join fellow G League players Kenneth Lofton Jr. (Memphis Hustle), Mac McClung (Delaware Blue Coats) and Scotty Pippen Jr. (South Bay Lakers) on Team Jason, coached by Jason Terry, current Jazz assistant coach and former head coach of Grand Rapids Gold.
Jordan Rising Stars also features Ignite alumni and current Houston Rockets standout Jalen Green (2021), who today was drafted to Team Deron, led by three-time NBA All-Star and two-time All-NBA Second Team member Deron Williams.
All three games in Jordan Rising Stars will be played to a Final Target Score, meaning that each game will end with a made basket or a made free throw instead of with the clock running out. The semifinal games will be played to a Final Target Score of 40. The final game will be played to a Final Target Score of 25. Jordan Rising Stars tips off from Vivint Arena at 9 p.m. ET/7 p.m. MT on TNT.
On Sunday, Henderson, Miller, Cissoko and King will join teammates London Johnson and Babacar Sane, who are both eligible for the 2024 NBA Draft, and veterans Eric Mika and Shareef O'Neal in the NBA G League Next Up Game. Ignite's players will be drafted onto one of two teams - Team Scoot, captained by Henderson, or Team Luka, captained by Iowa Wolves forward Luka Garza. Henderson and Garza will select a 12-man roster from the 25-player field during the NBA G League Next Up Game Draft, which will be broadcast on Feb. 14 on NBAGLeague.com at 2 p.m. ET and then on the NBA App at 3 p.m. ET.
Head coaches Scott Morrison (Salt Lake City Stars) and Paul Hewitt (Ontario Clippers) will lead Team Scoot and Team Luka, respectively.
Tipoff from the Jon M. Huntsman Center is set for 3 p.m. ET on Sunday, Feb. 19 and airs live on NBA TV.
