ONTARIO, Calif. - NBA G League Ignite (2-32) dropped its final game to the Ontario Clippers (15-19), 113-102, on Thursday night at Toyota Arena in Ontario, Calif.
Ignite was led by Michael Frazier II with a final stat line of 22 points and four rebounds on 8-of-16 shots from the field. London Johnson followed behind with 21 points, eight assists and two steals on 7-of-13 shooting from the field, including 3-of-5 from the three-point line. Izan Almansa added 17 points and five rebounds, while Gabe York tallied 17 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Kobe Brown paced the Clippers after recording a game-high 30 points with nine assists and seven rebounds on 12-of-19 shooting from the field. Armoni Brooks contributed 27 points and three rebounds off the bench, while Brodric Thomas posted 26 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
In a back-and-forth opening quarter, which saw nine lead changes and six ties, Ignite edged out a four-point advantage (34-30) behind Babacar Sane, who scored eight points in the frame. It was the fifth time Ignite had held the lead at the end of the first quarter this season. The Clippers responded by opening the second quarter on a 20-4 run to take a 12-point lead with 2:54 remaining in the half. Ignite used a 9-0 run to cut its deficit to three with under a second remaining. Armoni Brooks capped off an impressive first-half performance with a 34-foot heave at the buzzer to lead all scorers with 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field, including 4-of-5 from behind the arc as the Clippers took a 55-49 lead at the halfway mark. The Clippers began to pull away in the third quarter after outscoring Ignite by 11 points (29-18) in the frame, led by Brodric Thomas, who poured in 11 of his 26 points in the frame en route to taking a 17-point lead heading into the final period. The Clippers extended its lead by 23 points in the fourth quarter to coast to the victory despite Ignite's late rally down the stretch.
