
Sky Sox Homestand Packed with Notable Names and Theme Nights

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Colorado Springs Sky Sox fourth homestand beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, May 30, is packed with family-fun and affordable entertainment as the team hosts the Iowa Cubs -Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs - for five games at Security Service Field.
On Wednesday, May 30 and Thursday, May 31, the Sky Sox will end the month of May with two weekday promotions. On Wednesday, NOVA Home Loans' Community Ticket Day, where fans can stop by any Pikes Peak Library District location to get vouchers for the game. On Thursday, the month will be capped off with another $3 Thirsty Thursday which features $3 craft beers, $3 parking, and $3 upper-reserve tickets.
To kick off June, the Sky Sox will host the annual Heroes Classic presented by Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank on Friday in honor of all local First Responders with post-game fireworks. Free tickets are available for First Responders with I.D. shown at the Sky Sox Papa John's Box Office. The Sky Sox team will also be debuting the 1980-replica and Cleveland Indians era "Cheers to 45 More Years" jerseys, which will be auctioned at the end of June. In addition to the Heroes Classic, special guest, New York Yankees legend Bernie Williams will be at Security Service Field Friday night in support of a disease he lost his father to. Williams teamed up with Breathless to bring hope and awareness to all those facing IPF (Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis) and will be educating fans while being a part of the night's promotions.
On Saturday, June 2, the Sky Sox will host their first theme night of 2018 - Avengers Night - presented by UCHealth. On this night, Security Service Field will be flooded with Avengers characters throughout the game for fans to meet, interact with, and take photos with. Additionally, the voice of Colorado Sports and voice of the Super Bowl, Alan Roach, who announced for the Sky Sox throughout the 1990-1991 seasons, will be in attendance as special-guest Public Address announcer in honor of the tribute to the first era of the modern day Sky Sox.
On Sunday, June 3, the Sky Sox finish the homestand with day baseball and 50-cent hot dogs presented by Safeway. The afternoon will also feature Emergency Preparedness Day which includes a scavenger hunt and fun, educational activities for all fans. A Sky Sox Tote Bag Giveaway will take place when gates open and will be given to the first 1,000 fans through the Security Service Field gates presented by the Colorado Springs Office of Emergency Management and UCHealth.
