Reno Aces News Release
Salt Lake City, UT. - The Reno Aces saw their 3-2 lead fly away Tuesday afternoon in Salt Lake City, losing 5-3. Salt Lake rallied to score one run in the seventh inning and two more in the bottom of the 8th for their 31st win of the season. Ildemaro Vargas and Rey Fuentes did their best to propel the offense, but their four hits were not enough. Silvino Bracho recorded his first blown save and first loss of the season (1.1 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 K). The loss sends the Aces back to Greater Nevada Field with a record of 22-31.
Kevin Cron extended his hitting streak to four games with a RBI double in the top of the third inning. Cron now has nine RBI this season and six doubles. Salt Lake responded with one of their own in the bottom of the fifth inning thanks to a David Flecther home run off Aces starter Troy Scribner. Scribner went 6.2 innings, allowed three earned runs and added two strikeouts. Silvino Bracho replaced Scribner with two outs in the seventh inning, but was greeted by Fletcher with a RBI single. Four hits in the eighth inning gave Salt Lake a two-run advantage. The Aces went down in order in the bottom of the ninth ending the Aces road trip with a record of 5-8.

Notes & Information
Homecoming: With the Las Vegas 51's heading to Greater Nevada Field tomorrow, the Biggest Little City will see some old faces. Outfielder Zach Borenstein and LHP Aaron Laffey are both currently on the active Las Vegas roster, Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets. Borenstein played 280 games as a member of the Biggest Little City, fourth-most in franchise history. Laffey pitched for Reno in 2017. He went 5-3 with a 5.42 ERA in 13 starts and 21 appearances. This season, Laffey is 0-1 with Las Vegas (10.80 ERA) and Borenstein is batting .233 with 9 home runs and 29 RBI.
Mr. Lefty: Kevin Cron has destroyed left-handed pitching this season, significantly better than in years past. With the left-hander Aaron Laffey on the mound for Las Vegas tomorrow, Cron looks to improve on his .440 (11-for-25) average. Last year, Cron hit just .243 against southpaw pitching (27-for-111) on his way to the Southern League MVP award. In 2016, Cron hit .198 against left-handers.
