COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - The Colorado Springs Sky Sox (29-24) hit the Iowa Cubs (21-32) for four home runs as they drove to a 10-3 victory, Friday at Security Service Field.

The Sky Sox shot out of the gate with a four-run first, scored off three hits, one walk and highlighted by a Dylan Moore two-run homer. After using 37 pitches to get through the first, I-Cub starter Kyle Ryan settled in to strike out the side in order in the second and also spin a scoreless third.

Colorado Spring put up another crooked number in the fourth. Former I-Cub Andres Blanco punched a leadoff home run before Ryan put two more on with a walk and a single. Alberto Baldonado would take over on the rubber and promptly loaded the bags with a walk, before letting the second run of the frame score on a sacrifice fly. Ryan's final line included six earned runs on five hits with seven strikeouts through 3.0 innings.

Iowa was held without a hit until Jacob Hannemann roped a double off the wall in the fifth, and the I-Cubs wouldn't break the shutout until the sixth. Mike Freeman sparked the drive with a leadoff single and David Bote followed with a walk. Both runners moved up on a wild pitch and a Mark Zagunis single brought in Iowa's first run of the game. Victor Caratini knocked in another pair with a double as the I-Cubs cut their deficit in half.

It was all Sky Sox from there as the home team answered with three runs in the bottom of the sixth to jump ahead 9-3. A Dustin Houle homer, Colorado Springs' fourth of the game, in the seventh solidified the final score.

Zagunis and Caratini headed Iowa's offense, each putting up a pair of hits and knocking in all of Iowa's three runs on the night between them.

Iowa and Colorado Springs meet for Game 4 of the set at Security Service Field tomorrow at 7 p.m. CT. Follow the action on AM 940, www.iowacubs.com or MiLB.TV.
