From the Notes
To the Left, to the Left: The Honky Tonks are facing another left-handed starter tonight, the third straight southpaw the Dance Halls have gone to in the series. It is just the second time this season Nashville has played against two southpaw starters in the same series and first time they have faced a left-hander in three straight games. Oklahoma City sent Caleb Ferguson and Manny Banuelos to the mound on May 26-27. Nashville is 7-5 against left-handed starters this season.
FORE!: Nashville matched a season-high by belting four home runs last night. They also slugged four on May 3 at Colorado Springs. Jake Smolinski became the fifth Nashville player to hit two home runs in a game this season. For Smolinki it was his second career multi-homer game.
Offense Leading the Way: Last night for just the second time this season Nashville won a game in which its starting pitcher allowed at least five runs. James Naile yielded six runs, five earned last night but the Honky Tonks won the game 8-6. On May 10 Daniel Gossett allowed five runs, four earned, in seven innings and defeated Colorado Springs 12-7. On May 3 Naile surrendered five runs, all earned against Colorado Springs. That game was suspended after eight innings with Nashville on top 14-6. Nashville is now 2-10 when its starting pitcher allows at least five runs.
Yea, They Want it Back to Back: Jake Smolinski and Anthony Garcia belted back-to-back home runs last night in the seventh inning, becoming the first Nashville hitters to go back-to-back this season. Nashville clubbed back-to-back home runs seven times in 2017.
