El Paso Chihuahuas News Release

The Sacramento River Cats scored in each of the first two innings for the second consecutive night and beat the El Paso Chihuahuas 8-1 Friday. The River Cats led 5-0 after an inning and a half and prevented the Chihuahuas from developing any rallies that threatened their lead. The River Cats have taken two of the first three games in the series.

Tyler Beede allowed one earned run in six innings for Sacramento, his third solid start all-time versus El Paso. Beede has allowed three earned runs in 21 career innings against the Chihuahuas. The Chihuahuas had six hits Friday, four of which were doubles.

Robert Stock and Jose Castillo both pitched scoreless innings for El Paso at the end of the game. It was the sixth scoreless outing in the last seven tries for Stock and the sixth straight scoreless outing for Castillo. El Paso's one run Friday came in an inning without a hit, when the Chihuahuas got two walks, a Sacramento wild pitch and a sacrifice fly from catcher A.J. Kennedy in the second.
