Beloit Sky Carp News Release
The South Bend Silver Hawks took game one of the short three game series against Beloit by a margin of 6-3 Wednesday night at Pohlman Field.
The Silver Hawks put up a five run inning in the second giving them the 6-0 lead. The Snappers would make a comeback attempt by posting three runs in the sixth.
Angel Morales lead off the frame with a single to left and would eventually move to second on a pass ball. Shortstop James Beresford earned a walk followed by an Aaron Hicks third double since joining the Snappers, which scored Morales from second. Ramon Santana slapped a single to center that scored both Beresford and Hicks to make it 6-3.
The comeback would fall short as South Bends' closer Justin Mace slammed the door shut.
