Quad Cities River Bandits News Release
The Quad Cities River Bandits and Lansing Lugnuts were postponed on Wednesday, as heavy rains pounded down on the Quad Cities all day and relegated the field conditions unplayable.
The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader starting at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday night and consisting of two seven-inning games with a 30-minute break in between.
The gates will open at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, giving the first 2,000 guests an early opportunity to pick up their free bobblehead doll featuring President Barack Obama. Guests will also be able to get a head start on happy hour, as everybody in attendance will benefit from $2 draft beers and fountain Pepsi products on a Thirst-day Thursday. In addition, the in-game entertainment will be themed based on NBC's hit sitcom, The Office.
While Wednesday night's postponed contest will be made up during Thursday's doubleheader, the Optimists Night and Halloween in July promotion have been rescheduled for Wednesday, August 5. Fans with vouchers for Optimists Night can use those vouchers to gain admittance to the 7:00 p.m. game on August 5 against the Cedar Rapids Kernels.
