Each team scored once in the third before the Dragons got back on the board in the fourth. Kevin Coddington singled with one out, went to second on a ground out, and scored on Miguel Rojas' two-out hit to left to make it 3-1.

Dayton's Josh Fellhauer led off the fifth with a single to right and went to third on Wiley's one-out single to right. With two out, Tony Brown lined a single to center to bring in Fellhauer and make it 4-1.

The Dragons scored again in the seventh when Fellhauer doubled, went to third on a wild pitch, and scored on Means' single to give Dayton a 5-1 lead.

Coddington and Mike Konstanty belted back-to-back doubles in the eighth to produce a run and close out the scoring.
