HERSHEY, Pa. - The Hershey Bears, in conjunction with the Washington Capitals, announced today that rookie defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler has exercised his option to return to his native Switzerland. The announcement was made by Bears President/GM Doug Yingst.

The 18-year-old Siegenthaler made his AHL debut on March 23 and recorded his first point, an assist, at Lehigh Valley. He appeared in a total of six games with the Bears, playing his most recent contest on Sunday at Providence.

Siegenthaler, a native of Zurich, Switzerland, was selected by the Capitals in the second round (57th overall) of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. He is expected to participate in the Capitals Development Camp in June at Kettler Capitals Iceplex.
