Heat Announce Roster Moves
April 8, 2016 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Stockton Heat News Release
Stockton, Calif. - The Stockton Heat, proudly owned by the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League, announce that forward Brett Pollock will join the Heat after his junior season ended along with the signing of goaltender Patrick Killeen to an amateur tryout contract. Goalie Josh Robinson has also been released from his pro tryout and returns to the Missouri Mavericks of the ECHL.
Pollock, 20, was acquired by the Calgary Flames in a 2016 Trade Deadline Day deal that saw Pollock dealt along with Jyrki Jokipakka and a conditional 2nd round draft pick in the 2016 NHL Entry from the Dallas Stars in exchange for defenseman Kris Russell.
Originally taken in the second round (45th overall) in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, Pollock played the last four seasons with the Edmonton Oil Kings of the Western Hockey League, leading his team the past two seasons in goals and points. He also helped the Oil Kings to WHL and Memorial Cup championships in 2013-14. Pollock will wear #14 with the Heat.
