San Antonio Rampage News Release

SAN ANTONIO - Borna Rendulic tallied a goal and two assists and Reto Berra stopped 36-of-39 shots to lead the San Antonio Rampage (31-34-8-0) to a 4-3 shootout win over the Iowa Wild (23-39-4-5) in front of 8,865 at the AT&T Center on Friday night. With the victory, the Silver and Black extend their home winning streak to six games.

After a scoreless opening period, Joey Hishon potted his 14th goal of the season. Nick Drazenovic carried the puck behind the goal, his pass finding the tape of Hishon on the doorstep for the tally.

The Wild answered before the end of the session when Mario Lucia punched the puck past Reto Berra just as Iowa's power-play came to an end for his first professional marker, sending the teams into the second intermission knotted at one.

San Antonio took the lead back early in the third period. Skating in on a break, Rendulic fired a shot that Leland Irving stopped but left the rebound in the crease, where Sam Henley was waiting for the finish.

Iowa defenseman Joe Finley scored two quick goals just 42 seconds apart to give the Wild their first lead of the night at 5:42. Just when it looked as if the Rampage's home win streak might be broken, Rendulic tallied the equalizer, scoring off a perfectly-placed pass from Dennis Everberg to tie the game at three with just 21 seconds left in regulation.

Each team recorded three shots during the extra frame, but neither could bury the biscuit, and the game headed to a shootout for the third time this season for San Antonio. Berra stopped each of the three shooters he faced in the skills competition, and Ben Street found the back of the net to seal a 4-3 victory.
