West Sacramento - For the second straight day at Raley Field, the Tucson Sidewinders defeated the Sacramento River Cats, winning on Sunday night, 11-6. The win by Tucson cuts Sacramento's lead in PCL's Pacific Conference Southern Division to just 6.0 games over the second place Sidewinders.
The Sidewinders offense banged out 11 hits on the night including 2 each by their 2-3-4 hitters (Brian Barden, Conor Jackson and Carlos Quentin respectively). Bobby Smith (3-for-5, HR) and John Baker (2-for-2, HR, 3 RBI) led the offensive charge for the Cats, who fall to 58-44 with the loss.
The River cats and Sidewinders complete their 4-game set on Monday, when RHP Ryan Glynn (1-1, 1.46) takes the mound for Sacramento against Tucson's LHP Jon Cannon (3-5, 4.31).
