
Players' Wives Family Food Drive Collects More than 6,000 lb of Food, $2,000 for Local Families

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- The Sacramento River Cats announced today that their sixth-annual Players' Wives Family Food Drive collected more than 6,000 pounds of food and $2,000 for local families. The food and money will be donated to Sacramento Food Bank Services.
Fans at tonight's game received one autographed photo of their favorite River Cats player for each non-perishable food or monetary donation made. The players' wives and families were stationed at each gate to Raley Field from 4:30-6:00 p.m.
This year's total of food and monetary donations marks the highest since the program's inception in 2000.
Since 2000, the Players' Wives Family Food Drive has collected more than 22,000 pounds of food and $10,400 for local families.
