Fresno Grizzlies News Release

Fresno, CA-The Portland Beavers scored five runs in the top of the first inning en route to a 12-0 victory over the Fresno Grizzlies Sunday night at Grizzlies Stadium. The Grizzlies' offense continues to struggle against the Beavers' pitchers, having managed to score just three runs in the last three games against the Beavers.

Portland scored three runs in the first inning off of starter RHP Matt Kinney (3-6) before the first out was even recorded. They tacked on two more in the first, one in the third, two in the fifth, three in the seventh and one in the ninth to account for their 12 runs.

The Grizzlies' star of the game was reliever RHP Mitch Wylie who came on in the top of the eighth and proceeded to strike out the side before hitting a one-out double in the bottom of the inning in his first professional at bat. Kinney suffered the loss, allowing eight runs on nine hits in 4 1/3 innings of work.

The Grizzlies will wrap up their eight-game homestand tomorrow at Grizzlies Stadium at 7:05 P.M. Monday Madness, presented by Wienerschnitzel, returns where fans can purchase two Field Level Reserved seats, two hot dogs and two sodas for just $14. RHP Seung Song (0-1) will take the mound for the Grizzlies and square off against RHP Brian Sweeney (3-1) and the Beavers.
