Set a Date at the Plate

BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox host Date Night at the Diamond with a Date Auction Friday, July 6, as the Baysox take on the Harrisburg Senators at 7:05 p.m. at Prince George's Stadium. The event includes a special ticket offer and is designed to give couples a romantic evening at the ballpark. And for those without a date, the Baysox will be hosting a special date auction that will include a romantic dinner with a Baysox staff member to benefit Habitat for Humanity.

Baysox Sponsorship Accounts Manager Megan Holloway helped plan the event. "We thought holding a date auction would be a fun way to raise money for a good cause," Holloway said. "There are some really great people working for the Baysox, but our fans only get to see us when we are working. This is a great chance to meet some of us outside of work and enjoy a date in style."

The Date Auction will consist of a silent auction beginning at the start of the game and running through the sixth inning. Fans will be able to bid on Baysox staff members with the winner taking part in a group dinner date at Bertucci's Italian restaurant in Annapolis Friday, July 13. Bayside Limousines will be providing transportation to and from the date, which will begin at 5:00 p.m. and end at approximately 8:00. The costs for dinner and the limo are included in the auction fee.

The minimum bid is $15 and the proceeds from the auction will benefit Habitat for Humanity. Participating staff members have created short introduction videos that will be played on the video board during the game and bio sheets will also be provided at the auction table to allow fans to learn more about their prospective dates. The Date Night at the Diamond ticket package is $20, and includes box seat tickets, a romantic carousel ride for two, a flower, and the opportunity to commemorate the evening with a picture together under a romantic archway.
