Harrisburg Senators News Release

After two rain outs, the Senators and Erie SeaWolves played six innings before the rain came with the Sens winning 2-0. Harrisburg and Erie had been scheduled to play two games on Wednesday, but rain postponed game number two.

Luke Montz hit a two-run two-out home run in the bottom of the sixth inning with the rain coming down giving the Sens the win. Leonard Davis walked with one out to score on the drive by Montz. The Sens had just three hits in the game, the home run by Montz and singles by Davis and Ofilio Castro.

After dropping twelve straight, the Sens have now won three of four games.

Yunior Novoa picked up the win, pitching into and out of trouble. Erie loaded the bases in the sixth on a single and two walks, before Novoa retired the final two batters. Erie stranded a runner on second in the third and then a runner at third base in the fifth before leaving them loaded in the sixth.

Ross Detwiler started for the Sens and pitched five shutout innings striking out seven, a season high for him. Detwiler allowed four hits and walked just one batter. The two teams will play two on Thursday beginning at 5pm. Anyone holding tickets for the game rained out Monday night can exchange them for a ticket of equal value for any regular season game this season.
