
Send A Valentine To Your Favorite Sound Tiger

BRIDGEPORT, CT - Wives, fiancées and girlfriends of the players, coaches and staff of the American Hockey League's 2001-02 Regular Season Champion and Eastern Conference Playoff Champion Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, will begin a "Send A Valentine To Your Favorite Sound Tiger" fundraising campaign to benefit the Kennedy Center this weekend. This will be this season's second fundraiser headed up by Sound Tigers' wives, fiancées and girlfriends who also raised $1356 for the Kennedy Center through the sale of holiday Candy Grams in December.
For $1, fans can purchase lollipops along with a heart-shaped valentine on which they can write a message to their favorite Sound Tiger. The valentines will be delivered at the conclusion of the fundraiser. The $1 donation will also enter fans into a raffle to win a Sound Tigers' team-autographed helmet. Fans can "Send A Valentine To Their Favorite Sound Tiger" at all home games at Arena at Harbor Yard this Friday, January 24th through Saturday, February 8th. The Kennedy Center was founded in 1951 and is one of the most comprehensive rehabilitation facilities in the state providing a wide variety of vocational, residential, educational, therapeutic and recreational service options for children and adults with mental retardation, psychiatric disabilities, acquired brain injury, deafness, work-related injuries and learning, physical and developmental disabilities. The Sound Tigers will finish a seven-game road trip when they visit the Binghamton Senators tonight at 7:05 p.m. They will return home for a pair of games versus the Houston Aeros this Friday at 7:35 p.m. and Saturday, "Milford Appreciation Night", at 7:05 p.m. All Sound Tigers' games are broadcast live on "The ZONE" FOX Sports Radio 1300 and at www.soundtigers.com. WSTC/WNLK 1400/1350 also broadcasts road games.
