Bulldogs Wash Away River Rats, 3-1

Jason Ward scored one goal and one assist leading the Hamilton Bulldogs to a 3-1 victory over the Albany River Rats at Copps Coliseum on Wednesday. The Bulldogs record improves to 35 wins, 7 losses, 4 ties and 3 overtime losses. Hamilton is first overall in the AHL with 77 points.

The Bulldogs also had goals from Ben Carpentier and Jarret Stoll. Hamilton assists went to Tomas Plekanec, Marc-Andre Bergeron, Michael Ryder and Francis Bouillon.

Ty Conklin had a strong game in goal for Hamilton stopping 32 shots and was named the game's first star. Ari Ahonen made 19 saves for the River Rats.

On special teams the Bulldogs were 0 for 2 on the power play, while the River Rats wer 0 for 4.

The Hamilton Bulldogs have an opportunity to tie an AHL record on Friday as they look to extend their road unbeaten streak to 15 games when they travel to Winnipeg to take on the Manitoba Moose.
