Harrisburg Senators News Release

The Harrisburg Senators struck first, but could not hold onto a one-run lead for long, as the New Britain Rock Cats beat the Sens in the series finale, 9-3. Even with the loss, the Senators had a successful road trip going 4-3 and they return home 47-34.

Senators' Tyler Moore was the main contributor for the Sens, having two hits and two RBIs in the game. His double in the first scored Chris McConnell, and a solo homerun in the fourth inning accounted the Sens second run in the game. Moore now has 16 home runs and a team high 50 RBIs. Stephen King and Josh Johnson hit back-to-back doubles in the 8th for the final Sens run.

Sens' starter, Tanner Roark, pitched 5.0 innings and gave up four runs on seven hits. In an inning and a third, Jimmy Barthmaier pitched in relief, giving up four runs on four hits, three of those runs earned. Patrick McCoy threw the last inning and two-thirds, allowing one earned run on three hits.

Liam Hendriks started and went seven innings for the Rock Cats in earning his eighth win on the season.

The Senators return home to celebrate the Fourth of July and begin a four-game series against the Erie SeaWolves. RH Brad Peacock takes the mound Monday night at 7:00 p.m. The game can be heard on 1460am The Ticket, on the Internet through the Sens website, and on your ipad or iphone beginning at 6:50 p.m.
