TONIGHT: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and Reading Phillies will meet in the finale of a four-game series...The R-Phils scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning and never trailed as Reading withstood a rally from the Flying Squirrels and held on for a 7-4 win on Saturday night in front of 8,915 fans at FirstEnergy Stadium.

AT A LOSS: The Flying Squirrels have lost consecutive games for the first time since losing back-to-back games to Bowie 6/18 and 6/19...The 14 runs allowed by the club over the last two games or also the most since allowing 15 total runs to the Baysox 6/18 and 6/19...Richmond has not lost a series since dropping two of three to Bowie 6/17-6/19...The Flying Squirrels had won seven of their previous nine games prior to falling in their last two games in Reading...Richmond did not lose more than two games in a row the entire month of June.

HOW DO YOU LIKE ME NOW: First baseman Wes Hodges turned in the sixth multi-homer performance in Flying Squirrels history as he went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBIs last night...It was the third multi-homer performance in his career and his first since smashing a pair of home runs 4/15/08 against Binghamton while with the Akron Aeros...It was the second multi-homer game of the season for a Flying Squirrels batter as Johnny Monell blasted a pair of home runs 5/25 against Erie...Hodges is 6-for-12 (.500) through the first three games of the series at Reading with three homers, six RBIs, and three runs scored and he has raised his batting average from .213 to .271 over the course of the series...The 26-year-old was signed by the San Francisco Giants 6/14 after being released by the Cleveland Indians 6/7.

GEORGIA PEACH: Second baseman Charlie Culberson went 2-for-4 last night with a two doubles and a run scored...It was his 21st multi-hit game of the season, passing Roger Kieschnick for the team lead...Culberson has hits in seven straight games, his fifth hit streak of five games or more...The 22-year-old is batting .552 (16-for-29) with three doubles, a home run, three RBIs, and six runs scored over that stretch while striking out five times and walking once...The Georgia native has raised his average from .248 to .267 over his last seven contests.

FRESH PICKED: Left-hander Ryan Verdugo picked off Erie center fielder Derrick Mitchell in the bottom of the fifth inning last night...It was the 15th baserunner picked off by Richmond pitchers this season and third picked off by Verdugo.

PITCHING IN: The Flying Squirrels pitching staff leads the Eastern League with a 3.00 ERA through 79 games and has allowed a league-low 281 runs...Richmond's pitching staff has allowed two runs or less in 30 of its 79 games (38%)...The club's 3.00 ERA is tied with the Low-A Burlington Bees for the lowest amongst all of the full-season MiLB teams.

NO PLACE LIKE HOME: The Flying Squirrels have begun a stretch where they will play 20 out of 27 games at home including a doubleheader against Harrisburg 7/9...The club is 26-15 at home and is batting .254 in 41 games at The Diamond while averaging 4.66 runs per game at home (191R/41G)...Overall, the club is 15-23 on the road, and is batting .206 and averaging 3.34 runs per game (127R/38G) in 38 road contests.
