Hendriks Throws Rock Cats Past Harrisburg

NEW BRITAIN, CT - Liam Hendriks continued his success on the mound with another impressive outing and Chris Parmelee and Mike Hollimon homered as the Rock Cats thumped Harrisburg, 9-3 on Sunday afternoon.

The Rock Cats pounded out 14 hits, with every batter in the starting lineup having at least one hit. Five hitters turned in multi-hit games.

The Senators were the first on the board when Tyler Moore doubled to left to knock in Chris McConnell, who reached base on a single. It was the only time that Harrisburg would be ahead.

The Rock Cats struck back in the second inning. Yangervis Solarte singled with one out and Deibinson Romero followed with a walk. After Tanner Roark forced Hollimon to fly out to right field, he hit Mark Dolenc with a pitch to load the bases with two outs. Daniel Rohlfing came through with a clutch two-run double that put the 'Cats on top, 2-1.

Parmelee gave the Rock Cats breathing room with a solo home run in the third inning for the 3-1 advanatge. Moore answered back by leading off the top of the fourth with a home run over the left field wall to close the gap, 3-2.

Mike Hollimon joined the home run party with a solo shot of his own to lead off the bottom of the fourth.

Parmelee added an RBI single as part of a two-run sixth. Rohlfing also scored on a passed ball in the inning. Rohlfing finished the day with two hits and a game-high three RBI, including an RBI single in the seventh.

Hendriks (8-2) struck out seven while limiting the Senators to two runs on four hits in seven innings.

Roark (4-5) scattered seven hits for four runs in five innings. He struck out six.

Of Note: The Rock Cats passed the 200,000 mark this weekend - the quickest ever in franchise history that this number was reached...Sunday's game was delayed for about an hour and 45 minutes due to rain.

ALLSTATE PLAYER OF THE GAME: RHP Liam Hendriks struck out seven in seven innings. He limited the Senators to two runs and four hits to earn his team-best eighth win.
