Harrisburg Senators News Release


The Senators scored twice in the 10th inning then hung on in the bottom of the 10th to beat Akron 6-5 and complete the three-game sweep of the RubberDucks. Harrisburg scored a run in the first to take a 1-0 lead. Trailing 2-1 in the third, the Sens plated three runs two of which came on a two-run home run by Michael A. Taylor. Akron tied the game in the bottom of the fourth and that was all for the scoring until the 10th inning. Greg Holland earned his first win with the Sens allowing only the free runner to score in the 10th.

On Capitol Hill

Tyler Mapes started and pitched the first six innings for the Sens. He allowed four runs on seven hits, two of which were two run home runs.

Bryan Bonnell tossed two scoreless in relief, his second straight solid outing.

Greg Holland pitched the final two frames and earned his first Sens win. He allowed a hit and only the free runner in the 10th inning to score.

With the Gavel

Andrew Stevenson had three hits including a double on the first pitch of the game. He also scored twice.

Michael A. Taylor had three hits including a two-run home run, drove in three runs and scored two runs.

The Senators went 3-for-13 with runners in scoring position and left five runners on base in scoring position.

Filibusters

- The Sens finished the season 4-5 against Akron.

- It was the Sens first three-game sweep since sweeping New Hampshire in three games in late July.

- The sweep was the Sens seventh of the season.

The Senators play the Erie SeaWolves Thursday night at 7 p.m. at FNB Field. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Radio Harrisburg 96.5FM 95.3FM and 1400AM beginning at 6:50 p.m.
