
SeaWolves Rally to Win Series

The SeaWolves rallied late to beat the Harrisburg Senators, 9-4 on Sunday afternoon at FNB Field. The series win was the first for Erie since taking four of seven from Akron June 22-27.
The SeaWoves opened the scoring in the top of the first inning for the second straight game. Ryan Kreidler singled with one out and Spencer Torkelson followed with a two-run home run to left for a 2-0 lead. The home run for Torkelson was his 11th.
The Senators quickly tied the game in the home half of the first against Erie starter Jesus Rodriguez. Cole Freeman led off and reached on an error. He moved to second on a groundout and to third on a Nick Banks single. A Rodriguez wild pitch scored Freeman from third and moved Banks to second. Donovan Casey singled home Banks to tie the game.
Harrisburg grabbed the lead in the fifth. Freeman and Jackson Cluff each singled with one out putting runners on the corners. Banks singled home Freeman and Casey lifted a sacrifice fly to right, scoring Cluff for a 4-2 lead.
Erie regained the lead in the top of the eighth. They loaded the bases against reliever Frankie Bartow with a Torkelson double, Andre Lipcius single and a Josh Lester walk. Drew Ward drew a bases loaded walk, scoring Torkelson to make it a one-run game. Harrisburg then summoned reliever Jhon Romero who gave up an infield single to Dylan Rosa, scoring Lipcius, tying the game. Chris Proctor followed with a double off the wall in left, scoring a pair for a 6-4 lead. Riley Greene then went to the opposite-field with a three-run home run, capping a seven-run inning and giving the SeaWolves their largest lead of the day at 9-4.
Rodriguez got the no-decision, lasting just 4.2 innings in consecutive starts. He allowed four runs, three earned, on nine hits with no walks and two strikeouts.
Yaya Chentouf (4-1) earned the win in relief tossing a scoreless innings allowing a walk.
Bartow (0-5) took the loss allowing four runs on two hits with two walks and a strikeout in 1/3 of an inning.
