SeaWolves Drop Third Straight in Harrisburg

The SeaWolves dropped their third straight game to the Harrisburg Senators on Wednesday night at Metro Bank Park 4-3. The loss was the SeaWolves seventh consecutive road loss.

In the second, the Senators scored first for the third straight game. Chris Rahl doubled off of Erie starter Brooks Brown with one out. Bryce Harper sent a bouncer to first and on a Rawley Bishop error, Rahl scored making it 1-0 Harrisburg.

Harrisburg added to its lead in the third. Stephen King doubled down the left field line with one out, moved to third on a wild pitch and scored on a Josh Johnson single for a 2-0 Senators lead.

In the fourth, the Tyler Moore led off and reached on an error and Rahl walked putting two on for Harper. Harper laid down a sacrifice bunt, pushing the runners into scoring position. Archie Gilbert doubled home both baserunners for a 4-0 Senators advantage.

In the fifth, Francisco Martinez led off and tripled for the fourth time this season. He scored on a double play ball making it 4-1.

Erie closed the gap once again in the top of the eighth against reliever Pat McCoy. Justin Henry reached on a fielder's choice and with two outs, Jamie Johnson crushed a two-run home run, his fourth, making it 4-3. The home run for Johnson was his first since May 2 at Binghamton.

The SeaWolves would get no closer as Rafael Martin worked a scoreless ninth, picking up his third save.

Brown (1-3) was the tough luck loser as he worked seven strong innings, allowing four runs, two earned, on seven hits with three walks and five strikeouts. Brown has dropped two of his last three games.

The SeaWolves look to avoid a four-game series sweep on Thursday night at Metro Bank Park against the Senators.7:00 First Pitch. LHP Casey Crosby (5-2, 3.42 ERA) takes the mound for the SeaWolves against RHP Chien-Ming Wang (MLB REHAB).
