Rock Cats Promote Lefty Reliever to AAA

New Britain, CT - The New Britain Rock Cats of the Eastern League today announced that 26-year-old LHP Jake Stevens has been promoted to Rochester in the International League. It will be the Cape Coral, FL resident's second call to the Triple-A classification this season.

The 6'2" southpaw is in his 8th year of professional ball after having been drafted out of Cape Coral High School by Atlanta in 2003. He was signed by Minnesota as a Free Agent in December of 2010.

Stevens made 16 appearances for the 2011 Rock Cats, all out of the New Britain bullpen. In 27.1 innings of work, he compiled a 1-3 record with a 6.59 ERA. In his three week stint with Rochester earlier this season, he made 10 appearances for the Red Wings and posted a 0-1 record with 1 Save and a 3.94 ERA.
