Erie SeaWolves News Release
(Erie, PA) - The Erie SeaWolves, Double-A Affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, have released the details of its 2011 Baseball Camp. The annual baseball skills camp for kids ages six to 16 is presented by Highmark.
The three-day camp will take place August 2-4 from 10 a.m - 1 p.m. Campers will be grouped by age and receive instruction from SeaWolves players and coaches including the fundamentals of hitting, pitching and fielding. In addition, campers will learn the importance of stretching before sports activities from the SeaWolves training staff and receive valuable nutritional information from Highmark specialists.
"We are excited to partner with Highmark and give kids the opportunity to learn about baseball and making healthy choices," said SeaWolves President Greg Coleman. "It's also a special opportunity for kids to get to know the SeaWolves players and coaches. After all, many of them are tomorrow's Major Leaguers."
Campers receive an official Erie SeaWolves Baseball Camp t-shirt, a certificate of completion signed by manager Chris Cron, daily lunch and a ticket to the Thursday, August 4 SeaWolves game against the New Britain Rock Cats (Minnesota Twins).
"The Erie Seawolves' baseball camp is a great opportunity to express the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle," said Jim Martin, Highmark's director of community affairs. "We are providing support to the program because it encourages kids to be more active in their daily lives, as well as educates them about healthy food selections."
Camp registration is $75 per child until July 15, 2011, and $90 per camper after July 15. Checks are accepted and can be made payable to the Erie SeaWolves. All major credit cards are accepted. All registration forms must be returned by July 29, 2011. For more information, contact Mark Martinez at 814-456-1300 or mmartinez@seawolves.com.
