
Seattle Mariners Announce Roster Moves

SEATTLE, Wash. - Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager Jack Zduriencik announced today the following roster moves:
- INF Nick Franklin selected from AAA Tacoma
- RHP Hector Noesi recalled from AAA Tacoma
- INF Dustin Ackley optioned to AAA Tacoma (post-game 5/26)
- LHP Lucas Luetge optioned to AAA Tacoma (post-game 5/26)
- OF Francisco Martinez designated for assignment
Franklin (#20) and Noesi (#45) will be in uniform and available for today's 1:10 p.m. game vs. San Diego at Safeco Field.
Franklin, 22, batted .324 (46x142) with 28 runs scored, 9 doubles, 4 home runs, 20 RBI and 7 stolen bases in 39 games with AAA Tacoma. The switch-hitter hit safely in 29 of 39 games, including a season-high 12 game hit streak from April 16-May 1 (.463/19x41, 12 R, 3 2B, 3 HR, 12 RBI).
Originally selected in the first round of the 2009 June Draft (27th overall) out of Lake Brantley High School (FL), Franklin is a career .287 hitter (443x1545) in 394 games over 5 minor league seasons (2009-2013). He entered this season ranked as the No. 47 prospect by MLB.com.
Noesi, 26, returns to the Major League roster for his second stint with the Mariners. Is 0-0 with a 2.63 ERA (4 ER, 13.2 IP) in 5 appearances (1 start). Made a spot start vs. the Yankees on May 16, allowing 1 unearned run in 4.1 innings. In three minor league starts this season (1 w/Tacoma, 2 w/Jackson), Noesi went 1-0 with a 3.38 ERA (6 ER, 16.0 IP).
Ackley, 25, hit .205 (32x156) with 4 doubles, 1 home run and 8 RBI in 45 games (41 starts at second base).
Luetge, 26, was 0-1 with a 7.15 ERA (9 ER, 11.1 IP) in 11 relief appearances in two stints with the Mariners.
Martinez, 22, hit .206 (26x126) with 6 doubles and 5 RBI in 34 games for AA Jackson. He was acquired by Seattle from the Detroit Tigers on July 30, 2011 as part of a 6-player trade.
