Perez Named PCL Pitcher of the Week

ROUND ROCK, Texas - After throwing seven shutout innings against Reno on May 21, Round Rock Express southpaw Martin Perez has earned the Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Week honor, announced by the league Monday.
Perez scattered three hits over 7.0 scoreless innings against the Aces as the E-Train blanked Reno for the second consecutive game. The left-hander did not walk a batter and struck out seven while throwing 77 pitches (49 strikes). He becomes the second Express pitcher to earn the honor after Brad Mills was named the PCL's Pitcher of the Week on April 15. Round Rock is currently third in the league with a 3.99 team ERA.
The Express concludes a four-game set in Memphis today against the Redbirds at 1:05 p.m. behind right-hander Josh Lindblom (4-0, 2.08 ERA).
