News and Notes

FUTURES, PAST AND PRESENT: Two highly touted prospects, Stolmy Pimentel and Henderson Alvarez, will take the mound tonight when the New Hampshire Fisher Cats take on the Portland Sea Dogs...Both players have had the honor of being named organizational representatives in the MLB Futures Game, which takes place during the Major League All-Star Weekend...Pimentel pitched in last year's game, while Alvarez was named to this year's contest.

MAYBE HE SHOULD MOVE HERE: Mark Sobolewski homered for just the third time this year, all against the Sea Dogs, as New Hampshire beat Portland 6-2 last night...Sobolewski's two-run shot broke a scoreless tie in the fifth inning...It was the third baseman's second home run in as many games in Portland and his second off Brock Huntzinger this year...The Sea Dogs righty also gave up Sobolewski's first long ball of the year last weekend in New Hampshire.
