NEWS AND NOTES

HOW ABOUT A HIGH FIVE: The Portland Sea Dogs have won a season-high four straight games, and continue their three-game series with the Richmond Flying Squirrels (Giants affiliate) on Wednesday night at Hadlock Field...Portland is in a stretch of five straight series against the Western Division...RHP Denyi Reyes makes his 11th start of the season, Reyes has not allowed a run in his last 16 innings pitched...RHP Alfred Gutierrez is on the hill for Richmond.

OPENING ACT WAS JUST FINE: Jerry Downs snapped a 2-2 tie with a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning, leading the Sea Dogs to a 5-2 win in the series opener...Joey Curletta tied the game twice, delivering a sac-fly in the fourth inning and a solo homer in the sixth...RHP Kevin Lenik shined in his debut in the Sox system, earning the win in relief with two innings on three strikeouts...Durbin Feltman worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the ninth for his second save.
