NEWS AND NOTES

OH THOSE 'CATS:Portland needs to win the final two games of this series to avoid their 10th consecutive series loss, as they host the New Hampshire Cats (Blue Jays affiliate) at Hadlock Field...After winning the series-season opener on June 23rd at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium, the Fisher Cats have won four straight from the Sea Dogs...RHP Mike Augliera was activated from the disabled list earlier today and will make his first start of the season against New Hampshire, but the fourth appearance of his career.

IT TOOK ONLY TWO: New Hampshire received RBI singles from Dalton Pompey and Dwight Jr. and beat Portland 2-0 on Wednesday night...Luis Diaz (0-7) earned a quality start in the loss, giving up two runs on seven hits over 6 IP...John Anderson (3-2) fired 6.2 IP on seven hits and four strikeouts...Chad Girodo earned a hold with 1.1 IP and Will Browning worked a perfect ninth for his first save of the season...Portland had seven hits, receiving two from SS Marco Hernandez...Jon Cornely pitched two scoreless innings of relief and Miguel Celestino added a perfect ninth.
