Reading Fightin Phils News Release
Following their much-heralded debut at Citizens Bank Park, the Phillie Phanatic's Galapagos Gang will be making their first MiLB appearance at FirstEnergy Stadium on Wednesday, July 8th when the Reading Fightin Phils host the Portland Sea Dogs at 7:05 p.m.
Made up of the Phillie Phanatic's old friends from the Galapagos Islands, the Galapagos Gang features Iggy the Land Iguana, Bessie the Blue-Footed Booby, Sid the Sea Lion, and Calvin the Giant Tortoise. The foursome traveled all the way from the islands to reunite with the Phanatic on his birthday this season and decided to stay in the City of Brotherly Love for the long haul.
The Phillie Phanatic has traveled around the world for years, and the Galapagos Gang selected Baseballtown as their first-ever appearance outside of the Philadelphia Phillies' Citizens Bank Park. During their visit to FirstEnergy Stadium, the Galapagos Gang will perform on-field and greet Fightins fans at the Weston Center Winning Smiles Stage during the game.
The July 8th Galapagos Gang appearance will not be featuring the Phillie Phanatic as the world's greatest mascot will be busy preparing for the 2015 MLB All-Star Game.
Fans looking for an exclusive meet and greet with the Galapagos Gang AND the Fightin Phils cavalcade of characters can purchase a Reading Health System Character Pool Party ticket for the special price of $18. On July 8th, the area features a 2 1/2 hour buffet with hot dogs, hamburgers, pasta and potato salad, chips, pretzels, cookies, and Pepsi products. The ticket also includes access to the pool, private locker rooms, and picnic table seating in right field. Admission to the pool area also includes a free Phunland wristband for those who are 14 and under in the party.
Wednesday, July 8th also features a Philadelphia Phillies Affiliates T-Shirt giveaway for the first 2,500 adults 15 and over thanks to Texstyles Screen Printing and Embroidery and Keystone Tees. The game also features a pre-game Play Catch on the Field with a free Fightins Baseball to the first 100 kids 14 and under thanks to Bellco Federal Credit Union.
Tickets for the 2015 season at FirstEnergy Stadium are available by visiting Fightins.com, calling the Fightin Phils Ticket Office at 610-370-BALL, or by visiting the Fightin Phils Ticket Office in person at FirstEnergy Stadium.
