NEWS AND NOTES

RUBBER GAME AT HIGH NOON : The Portland Sea Dogs and Erie SeaWolves play the rubber game of their three-game set on Thursday afternoon at Hadlock Field...Portland is seeking their second series win against a Western Division opponent - they took two of from the Altoona Curve on May 19-21...The 'Dogs are 3-9 during a 22-game stretch against the Western Division...RHP Justin Haley makes his team-leading 23rd start of the year and his second straight against Erie.

ABOUT LAST NIGHT : The two teams split a doubleheader last night with Erie winning the opener 4-3 but the 'Dogs taking the nightcap 6-4...In game one, the 'Dogs built a 3-0 lead on a two-run homer by Tim Roberson and an RBI single from Sam Travis...Erie scored four tin the fifth on a 3-run double by Jason Krizan and the second run scored on a failed rundown play...In game two, Dustin Lawley snapped a 3-3 tie with a two-out 3-run homer over the video board...Madison Younginer earned his sixth win and John Cornely pitched the final two innings for his second save of the season.
