Do Good on August 22 and Get Rewarded

The Thunder are calling all fans to support five local community organizations as part of the Sixth Annual Good Deed Game at ARM & HAMMER Park on Saturday August 22. The Thunder will reward fans who support one, two, three, four or all five of the charities that will be in attendance.

The Good Deed Game will feature collection tables on Times Square, the area in front of ARM & HAMMER Park, for the following non-profit organization drives:

- School supplies to support the learning center at the Habitat for Humanity - Trenton Area.

- Non-perishable food to benefit the Mercer Street Friends Food Bank.

- Toiletries to support HomeFront.

- Pet supplies for The Shelter Animal Project.

- Clothing to benefit the Rescue Mission of Trenton.

The Thunder will provide incentives to fans who support these local non-profit organizations. The more donations a fan makes, the more prizes they will earn.

1 One ticket to Sunday, September 6 (7pm) with post-game fireworks

2 Ticket to the game on 9/6 and the opportunity to watch fireworks from the field.

3 Everything above plus free parking on 9/6

4 Everything above plus a Thunder Hat.

5 Everything above and a voucher for a free hot dog, popcorn and soda.

Habitat for Humanity - Trenton Area will have a table on Times Square, the area in front of the ballpark, where fans can drop off notebooks, paper, pencils, markers and other school supplies that will be put to use by the children who use HFH's East Trenton Learning Center. To date, Habitat for Humanity has built more than 87 homes in the Trenton area and is currently working towards rehabilitating housing on the 500 block of N. Clinton Ave of the East Trenton revitalization area.

The Mercer Street Friends Food Bank will be collecting non-perishable food items as part of the Good Deed Game. The Mercer Street Friends Food Bank leads the community response to hunger in Mercer County, working to reduce and prevent hunger through food distribution, nutrition education, weekend and summer meals for children, as well as SNAP outreach and advocacy. Annually, Mercer Street Friends secures and distributes 2.5 million pounds of food and groceries to a network of 75 food pantries, shelters, meal sites and school sites. The food reaches nearly 30,000 children, adults and seniors who face food hardships.

HomeFront, an organization that helps familiies break the cycle of poverty, will collect personal care items such as shampoo, conditioner, lotion, bandaids, bar soap, toothpaste and other toiletry items that will be put to use in their new Family Campus and other residences.

The Rescue Mission of Trenton will collect clothing of all types at their table on Times Square. The Rescue Mission of Trenton is celebrating its 100th anniversary of service to the community and offers a variety of programs including emergency services, addiction services, education, job training and permanent supportive housing. Clothing collected will be sold in the Mission Thrift Store located at 100 Carroll Street.

The Shelter Animal Project is a 501(c) 3 non-profit corporation located in Fairless Hills, PA and Trenton, NJ. They are seeking any and all pet supplies such as canned food, dog crates, training pads, towels/small blankets, edible bones (no rawhides), chew toys, Clorox wipes, paper towels and much more! The Shelter Animal Project consists of dedicated volunteers that rescue dogs and cats from animal shelters or from owners who can no longer care for their pet. The Shelter Animal Project strives to improve living conditions for both cats and dogs and will cover all veterinary costs and supply extensive medical treatment to nurse them back to health.

On Saturday August 22, the Thunder host the Richmond Flying Squirrels (San Francisco Giants) at 7pm. Following the game, all fans can enjoy post-game fireworks, presented by Macy's.
