
Schmidt Transferred Back To Trenton

(TRENTON NJ) The Trenton Thunder, Double A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, announced today that they have transferred RHP Josh Schmidt back to Trenton from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Schmidt pitched a season-high three innings on Monday for Scranton and allowed three runs on five hits. Scmidt struck out two in his Triple-A debut.
Schmidt, 27, is 1-0 with a 0.98 ERA in 13 games for the Thunder this season. Schmidt was an Eastern League All-Star in 2009 with Trenton and posted a 8-4 record with a 1.61 ERA (46 games). He was drafted in the 15th round of the 2005 draft out of the University of the Pacific.
The Thunder play the New Britain Rock Cats on Tuesday night at 6:35 PM in New Britain, CT. LHP Jeremy Bleich (1-2, 4.50) will face
RHP Carlos Gutierrez(0-1, 5.10) for New Britian. Trenton has won a season high five consecutive games.
