Bowman's 12th-Inning HR Gives Fisher Cats 3-2 Win

Reading, PA- Shawn Bowmanblasted a monstrous solo home run on the first pitch of the top of the 12th inning, and Adrian Martinpitched three scoreless innings of relief to post his first win as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats outlasted the Reading Phillies, 3-2, on Tuesday afternoon at FirstEnergy Stadium. The victory snapped the Fisher Cats' three-game losing streak and kept New Hampshire (20-12) atop the Eastern League's Eastern Division.

Leading off the 12th, Bowman (2-for-4, HR, BB) connected for his first Fisher Cats' home run off losing pitcher Sergio Escalona (0-3), breaking up a 2-2 tie by sending his long ball off the secondary scoreboard beyond the left field bleachers.

Martin (1-1) allowed one hit, worked around three walks and fanned two in his longest outing of the season.

Domonic Brown (1-for-3, HR, 2 BB) gave Reading (12-19) a 1-0 lead with two outs in the bottom of the first when he knocked Randy Boone's 3-1 pitch into the left field bleachers for his sixth home run of the season.

Boone worked six strong innings, scattering three hits, walking one and striking five in a no-decision.

The Fisher Cats tied the game, 1-1, in the top of the fourth when Callix Crabbe (1-for-5, R) led off with a single off Vance Worley and scored on Adam Calderone's double off the wall in right.

New Hampshire went in front, 2-1, in the top of the fifth when Jonathan Diaz (1-for-4, 2B, SAC, R) doubled and scored on a single by Darin Mastroianni (2-for-5, RBI).

Worley pitched seven innings, yielding two runs on six hits. The right-hander struck out six and walked one.

Brian Stavisky (1-for-5, HR) took Tim Collins over the right-center field wall leading off the home half of the seventh for his second homer, tying the game 2-2.

The Fisher Cats conclude their six-game road trip on Wednesday morning at 11:05am when right-hander Zach Stewart (2-1, 6.94) pitches against Reading right-hander Phillipe Aumont (1-2, 6.08) in the rubber game of the three-game series at FirstEnergy Stadium. The Fisher Cats return home to open a four-game series against the Portland Sea Dogs at Merchantsauto.com Stadium Thursday, May 13, at 7:05pm followed by an Atlas Fireworks Show.
