Santa Cruz Acquires Daniel Nwaelele

SANTA CRUZ, Calif.-The Santa Cruz Warriors have acquired guard Daniel Nwaelele via Returning Player Rights, the team announced today.

Nwaelele, (6'5, 205) averaged 11.7 points on 42.1 percent shooting and 5.2 rebounds in over 15 games for the Warriors last season. During the 2012-13 season, he appeared in 30 games with the Santa Cruz Warriors, averaging 7.4 points and 2.5 rebounds, leading Santa Cruz Warriors in free throw percentage, at 86.8 percent.

Nwaelele averaged 9.8 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 109 games with Air Force and is second overall on Air Force's career list for three-point percentage at 45.1 percent. He spent five years in the Air Force, including two overseas deployments to Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia during his years of service.
