Bighorns Outlasted by Vipers 159-155

RENO, NEV., Jan. 08, 2015- Despite Quincy Millers double-double and six Bighorns scoring in double digits, the Bighorns couldn't hold off the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, losing 159-155 at the State Farm Arena in Hidalgo, TX.

Miller led the Bighorns notching 30 points and 12 rebounds. Ra'Shad James totaled 28 points and seven rebounds. Brady Heslip logged 27 points and three rebounds while Taquan Porter finished with 7 assists.

Chris Johnson and Clint Capela led the Vipers, netting 28 points while adding eight rebounds each. Vipers forward Akil Mitchell had 16 rebounds for the Vipers.

Miller led the Bighorns in the first quarter, logging eight points and three rebounds. Bighorns Guard David Stockton finished the quarter with seven points and three assists.

The Bighorns kept the score close in the second, briefly taking the lead midway through the quarter. Miller totaled seven points and five rebounds, while Heslip netted five points, ending the first half with a score of 83-80.

The Bighorns went into the locker room at the half shooting 55.6% from the field compared to the Vipers 52.5%.

Heslip paced the Bighorns in the third, netting 11 points while Porter added three assists.

Miller and James both had 10 points and three rebounds for the Bighorns in the fourth.

The Bighorns continue on the road, taking on the Oklahoma City Blue on Saturday, Jan. 10. Reno returns home Saturday, Jan. 24 to host the Los Angeles D-Fenders.
