January 9, 2015 - NBA G League (G League)
Grand Rapids Drive News Release

Newark, Del.- Jan. 9 - The Delaware 87ers (7-10) rallied late to take down the Grand Rapids Drive (10-9) by a score of 107-103 on Friday Night. The Sevens earned their third consecutive home win, while the Drive dropped their third game in a row.

Grand Rapids came flying out of the gates, scoring the game's first ten points, but Delaware quickly responded with an eight-point run of their own to neutralize the momentum. The two teams exchanged blows for remainder of the game, with neither able to pull out of reach of another comeback by the opposition. The lead exchanged hands 11 times and there were nine ties.

Ultimately, the Drive's last chance to retake the lead failed when Adonis Thomas' three-point attempt with five seconds to go clanked off the iron and the Sevens pushed the ball down the court for a dunk by Kenny Hall.

DJ Seeley paced all scorers with a great effort for Delaware, piling up 26 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Ronald Roberts fouled out late in the fourth after posting a big double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds.

Melvin Johnson, Jamal Jones and Kenny Hall all scored in double figures off the bench for the Sevens, sparking a great effort by the second unit.

The Drive had an incredibly balanced scoring attack, as six players scored in double figures but no player had more than 15. Willie Reed was the team's top performer with 15 points, nine rebounds and two blocks. Reed's frontcourt partner Hasheem Thabeet had 14 points, six rebounds and two steals.

Both teams have contests scheduled for Saturday night on the 10th, as the 87ers will play the Fort Wayne Mad Ants and the Drive draw a matchup on the road against the Erie BayHawks.
