Indianapolis Indians News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - Greg Bird drew a two-out walk in the top of the ninth inning and scored on a single from Gary Sanchez to send the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders to a 2-1, come-from-behind win and series split with the Indianapolis Indians Thursday night at Victory Field.

Bird finished the four-game series at 5-for-13 with three runs scored and three RBIs. He helped Scranton rally from consecutive defeats to win each of the last two games and prevent the Tribe's third series win at Victory Field in the last four meetings.

Indians starter Angel Sanchez took a no-decision despite eight dominant innings of one run and just four hits. The Triple-A rookie is 12-2 on the season between Double-A Altoona and Indianapolis and currently ranks tied for the most wins in Minor League Baseball.

Sanchez gave up his lone run on a double-play ball that allowed Tyler Austin to score in the top of the eighth.
