The Bulls play the finale of a four-game set against the Charlotte Knights in the first series of a season-long 11-game road trip. Durham is 2-5 since the All-Star Break, and has dropped 21 of its last 31 contests to go from a 2.0-game lead in the IL South to a 7.0-game deficit. The Bulls have not been this far back of first place in the IL South since the final day of the 2012 regular season, when they finished 66-78, 17.0 games behind the Knights. Charlotte - the Chicago White Sox top affiliate - is 5-2 over the first seven games of an eight-game homestand. The Knights enter today with a 33-18 record at home, best in the IL.
