San Rafael Pacifics News Release

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. - Darrick Hale and Zack Pace each had two hits and Jake Rasner rebounded from an illness that sidelined him on Monday, as the San Rafael Pacifics beat the Sonoma County Grapes 3-2 on Tuesday night at Albert Park.

San Rafael (30-20) scored three in the second inning when Pace doubled home a pair, and Hale singled him home - all after two were down.

The one-run margin proved to be enough for Rasner (7-1), who lasted 6 innings, scattered nine hits, walked one and struck out five. Matt Durkin pitched the final three innings, and didn't allow hit, en route to his first save of the season.

San Rafael High grad Steve Detwiler was 1 for 2 with a walk and a run scored. Pacifics manager Mike Marshall announced Tuesday that Detwiler will get the start on the mound for San Rafael in the series finale on Sunday. The outfielder/designated hitter has pitched one inning of relief for the Pacifics this season.

Another local product, Ross Pomerantz, went six innings for Sonoma County (16-28), allowed eight hits, walked one and struck out three, as the Marin Academy High alum fell to 2-3 on the season.

The two teams play Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. at Albert Park. Tickets are available at Pacificsbaseball.comas the Pacifics host Stitch N' Pitch Night, and serve $3 Budweiser and Bud Light draft through the first four innings.
