Dogs Grab Two From Pecos

ABILENE, TEXAS - The Prairie Dogs began building their roster back to the full allotment on Wednesday afternoon, acquiring a pitcher and an outfielder from the Pecos League. Left-handed hurler Steve Merslich and outfielder Logan Lotti will both join the Prairie Dogs for this evening's game in San Angelo.

Merslich, a lefty from Flushing, N.Y., is emerging from the 2012 season with the Alpine Cowboys of the Pecos League. The lefty fired 42 2/3 innings across 12 appearances (six starts) while posting a 3-1 record with a 5.91 E.R.A. The 25-year-old allowed 49 hits and walked 40 while striking out 47.

Lotti, an outfielder from Chico, C.A., played in 64 games with the Las Cruces Vaqueros this summer. In 258 at-bats, the right-handed hitter batted .357 with three home runs, 21 R.B.I.s, and 18 doubles.
