
Grapes Fall to San Rafael 3-2 in Game Two of Series

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. - Mark Micowski had three hits and Fred Atkins added added a pair as the Sonoma County Grapes fell to the San Rafael Pacifics, 3-2, on Tuesday night at Albert Park.
The Grapes took a one-run lead early, but San Rafael (30-20) scored three in the second when Zack Pace doubled home a pair, and Hale single home Pace - all after two were down.
The one-run margin proved to be enough for Pacifics starter Jake Rasner (7-1), who lasted 6 innings, scattered nine hits, walked one and struck out five. Matt Durkin pitched the final three innings, and didn't allow hit, en route to his first save of the season.
Local product, Ross Pomerantz, went six innings for Sonoma County (16-28), allowed eight hits, walked one and struck out three, as the Marin Academy High alum fell to 2-3 on the season.
The two teams play Wednesday at Albert Park at 7:15 p.m. Tickets are available at Grapesbaseball.com.
